poor assembly and shipping - like it now

"Unit arrived in poor shape. All of the pieces were loose in the box, no padding or packing material. Then, the pump was not secured to the frame, many of the small pieces of tubing were not connected, and too short to connect. So ended up basically dismantling the entire unit and re-assembling. Luckily I had a supply of tubing from previous RO units or would not have been able to install. Very disappointed initially. I was very close to returning the unit. After the rebuild of the unit, the installation went smooth and the unit is performing as expected. Water tastes great and pressure is very nice. Had the unit arrived properly assembled I would give it five stars."

Poor Quality Control - Bad and missing parts.

"The Good: Easy install on 9/7, great instructions, no assistance needed, except for the bad. The Bad: 220 volt transformer included in the box instead of a 110 volt. The Ugly: Tech support hours 8 am - 5 pm Pacific time. Replacement ordered on 9/8 at 11 am Eastern time. Received on 9/16. Plugged in the proper transformer. Leak in 1 of the 90 degree fittings from #4 filter to switch. Troubleshot per manual, no luck. Called Tech support on 9/19. Received part on 9/29. Finally Installed. Total 22 days to install. Yes, Really."

"I bought this about a month ago and wow I am impressed. Our water pressure is below average and our old under the sink (common Lowes / Home depot shelf system) simply couldn’t keep up even right after filter changes. The large filter system that APEC includes on their system with the pump keeps us drinking water filling the coffee maker ice maker and pots without slowing down. Highly recommend if you used one of those other pre/post filter osmosis systems and it’s not keeping up with household demands."

I can finally drink our well water!

"We have awful well water and have had it for years. We recently consulted a water company through one of the big box stores. They wanted $12000 to fix my water and give me drinkable water at my sink and fridge with $1900 of that for a reverse osmosis system. Unfortunately we couldn't afford that (shock!!!) so we started looking into other reverse osmosis systems. We came across Apec and were impressed with the reviews so we purchased a RO Pump. My husband installed it in the basement rather than under the sink and also hooked it up to our fridge. He had no problems with the installation. He said it was fairly easy and the instructions were pretty clear. He installed it in the basement to save space under the sink and hooked it up to the ice maker upstairs and downstairs. I can't tell you how impressed I am with this system. We have a chlorinator and softener on our water now and we didn't drink our water I don't cook with our water and I wouldn't even use our water to brush my teeth. With this system I'm able to use our water for cooking and drink it straight from the fridge. I can tell no difference between our water and the bottled water we've been buying by the 5 gallons for years. Our only regret is that we didn't get the larger tank and get it sooner."

MORE Efficient han They told me it was gonna be.

"My old RO System was from the early 1990s. It was so obsolete I couldn't get filters for it anymore. It wasted 4 gallons to make 1/2 gallon and it took 1.5 hours to produce that half gallon.The Apec RO Pump system I recently installed produces 2.25 gallons of pure water in 30 minutes and it only wastes 3.5 gallons to make that 2.25 gallons.That really impresses me. They told me it would probably waste a 3 to 1 ratio. In reality it only wastes 1.5 to 1 ratio. It's pretty rare that a salesman doesn't feed ya full of BS.I'm very happy with this new RO Pump System. This thing really Kicks A_ _."
