"The new media seems to be doing it's job. In my case it only lasts a few years. I'm disappointed in Apec lately. They used to include instructions, funnel and a plug with the replacement media. This time, nothing. Good thing I save the funnel from the last time. On another note, they also discontinued the disposable "big blue" filter element and only offer the washable one. The disposable element was much better at prefiltering the gunk before entering the iron hydro unit."
"Replacing this media is not for everyone. It is very, very heavy. I was able to do it though and my iron filter is working like new."
