UV Lamp Upgrade for RO SystemsThe primary usage for a UV light is to disinfect filtered water at a certain flow rate. Bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms are destroyed by the UV interfering with the DNA and RNA in the organisms' reproductive cycles. In theory, the reverse osmosis membrane already removes bacteria and viruses from the water, therefore, if you are on a municipal water system (tap water) in the U.S., chances are that you should not need a UV light on top of our ULTIMATE RO System. But, if your water source is known to be unsafe with microorganisms and you want to have extra protection, then you can add an UV as an additional stage to disinfect water. APEC ultra violet Upgrade Kit can be added on to any existing RO system or replace old UV unit. Stainless steel reactor vessel, quartz sleeve, extra tubing, 2 Elbow fittings, 2 mounting clips, electronic ballast and UV lamp are all included.

"I only needed the O ring that separates the light bulb from the water tube But apec doesn't sells O rings by themselves... so Since I have my filter for about 8 years I taught it was a good time to change this piece from my filtration system. I was gonna buy this piece from the leader store but buying it directly from apec store got me a better price and free shipping. Thanks. APEC CONSIDER SELLING O RINGS BY THEMSELVES 3 PACK 5 PACK."
"So far so good, had leak at light tube end after a couple of weeks that just needed to be snugged up. Easy to install and comes with everything you need."
"The best under sink UV filter I have seen, used or heard of. Bulb lasts longer than expected as well! This is the 3rd brand of UV filter I have used and the only one where the housing is still not leaking, all others leaked or corroded and then leaked. Glad to have finally found a quality product!"
"Makes the drinking water hot to the touch for a few moments. So we just tun the hot water off."
"no place to easily view if light is working"
"Hose fittings need teflon tape to stop 1st leak. Screw on end nut needed silicon grease so it would screw on smoothly and not bind up before seating the washer on the tube. I also put grease on the seat of the washer nut to keep it from leaking."
"works very well"
"O ring leak developed after a couple of months. Could have caused severe damage if I hadn't caught it before going to bed. Not even going to contact APEC for this, going to try an source a new, better, o-ring elsewhere or just RTV the dumb thing because the UV bulb goes in without having to disassemble the UV housing."
"Excellent quality products UV Ultra Violet Sterilizer."
"I purchased a replacement stainless UV filter kit to replace the factory part that came with my water cooler. I had already purchased a replacement part two years ago from the water cooler manufacturer. That plastic UV light holder replacement broke spontaneously just the like the original. The APEC part is of a much higher quality and I am confident it will last as long as the water cooler. I needed the part rushed and your order fulfillment folks (sorry I cannot recall the fellows name) took the order at 5pm and got the part to us before noon the next day. The part installed in two minutes and we had potable water again. Thank you. My next purchase of any water purification equipment will be from you."
