great little pump
"This pump doesn't require electric and boosts my output. Works great, but does make a little popping noise. Not bothersome, but it does do it."

"In May 2025 I replaced the filters in my Ro-Perm system. I have had the system for almost 20 years and it does a great job purifying my water. After the filter replacement I no longer heard the pump but when I checked the water it was still clean so I thought the pump was just quiet. My normal home water consumption of city water is 3,000 to 4,000 gallons per month. in June and July my consumption jumped to 10,000 and 12,000 per month. I thought I had a leak but could not discover one. I used an AI app to ask what could be causing the leak. One suggestion was if you have a reverse osmosis system check it for a problem. I looked under the sink and could hear running water but no leak. I shut off the water supply to the reverse osmosis system and checked the water meter in my front yard and and wrote down the meter reading. I checked the meter daily for a week and determined that the water consumption was back to the normal 3,000-4,000 gallon per month level. I figured out that the Permeate Pump was not working. The clue was I did not hear it pumping. I ordered the pump and replaced the old pump an easy task since both the old and new pumps had quick connecters. I am very happy with my Ro-Perm system considering it still works perfectly with a new pump. The reason I wrote the review is for two purposes first to show you how much water you can lose if the pump stops working. When the tank was full and the pump should have shut off it did not and the waste water flushed out the drain far exceeded the 90 gallon/day capacity of the system. Second you should warn customers when you do not hear the pump after using some filtered water you should replace the pump. The APEC Company makes quality products but overlooking a non working pump can quickly cost you a lot of money"
"The old pump had a check valve at the "Brine In" connection and the new pump didn't. Was not mentioned in install instructions, I then thought the new pump might have this part built in and that I just could not see it. After the install I found out the pump did not work so I went through the procedure to de-pressurize the system and pulled out the tubing from the "Brine In" used the check valve component from the old pump. Worked fine after that. Filled and emptied the tank 4 times and put the system back into service. All five filters were also replaced. Great system and appreciated past help when I needed it. Thank You, Lee Silva"
"It seems to have a mind df it's own. it will run and run for extended periods of time {like an hour or two} seems like more than it takes to replace a glass of RO water in the system. I can hear the excess water that it is wasting running running out the wastewater pipe. If you don't really need it, you might want to stay away from it."
"I have found that the permeate pump does help on water wells with lower pressure. Output is increased which helped the dispenser in the refrigerator and decreased the fill time on the ice maker. I think my only question will be the life of the pump how long should it last."
"Lived in the country all my life and rural water pressure is not always very good. This pump is awesome! It boosts the pressure so that we ALWAYS have plenty of RO water! And-it doesn't run on electricity so no worries about a plug in! I have had my system since 2006 bought it as a replacement and have been perfectly happy with its ease of use and easy to change filters! Thank you!"
