How I use it
"It needs to be glued to the bottom of a drip pan that can be anything from a 9 inch deep dish baking pan to a water heater pan. This means you need to group the fittings together enough to be over the pan so the leak will fall into the pan. As the water level rises in the pan, the sponge gets wet and expands, tripping the valve arm like a mouse trap, shutting off the valve. It's possible that a misting leak can wet the sponge enough to work, but it is not reliable. The valve arm must have room to swing in order to work."
