Simple and Effective Leak Controller

This innovative water leak detector uses a lever trigger mechanism to shut off incoming water in the event of a leak. An absorbent expanding pad is fitted into the device and when water comes into contact with the material it will expand in size. This action will flip up a lever which shuts off the incoming water supply. This leak detector is completely maintenance free as it does not require electricity or batteries. It can be easily installed on any surface with a simple screw and adhesive pad but it should be placed close to where a water leak may pool near the water source. This detector works well with reverse osmosis and other water filtration systems.

How I use it

"It needs to be glued to the bottom of a drip pan that can be anything from a 9 inch deep dish baking pan to a water heater pan. This means you need to group the fittings together enough to be over the pan so the leak will fall into the pan. As the water level rises in the pan, the sponge gets wet and expands, tripping the valve arm like a mouse trap, shutting off the valve. It's possible that a misting leak can wet the sponge enough to work, but it is not reliable. The valve arm must have room to swing in order to work."

Nice to own

"Works good, ours has low water pressure after about 1/4 gallon. It takes about 10 seconds for the first 30 oz, but maybe 4 min to get a gallon."

Using A Leak Detector Is A Smart Move

"I purchased my first leak detector from Apec when I purchased my reverse osmosis system. I installed my system in the basement and I built a wood stand with a tray underneat the system in case there was a leak. I put in the leak detector that I purchased. Shortly after I turned on the system I had a leak from one of the filters. The leak detector shut down the system and prevented the water from continuing to leak from the filter. I would suggest everyone that puts in a RO system whether it be in the basemenbt or under the sink install a leak dector. You will be so glad you did. Especially since the price of one is very inexpensive."
