Advanced Catalytic Coconut Granular Activated Carbon
The Green Carbon water filter uses the highest grade granular coconut shell based activated carbon to effectively remove a wide range of chemical and organic contaminants from water without the need for regeneration, backwash, or electricity. Designed specifically for whole house filtration, this system uses acid washed high purity granular activated carbon manufactured by steam activation from premium select coconut shell charcoal. When water comes into contact with the surface of the catalytic media, gas, vapor, liquid and dissolved solid contaminants get channeled and trapped in the micropores of the carbon by the process of adsorption. These compounds are subsequently diffused into the carbon matrix and are adsorbed or locked into the internal pore structure removing it from the water. The large surface area of our carbon makes it highly porous allowing it to treat between 600,000 to 1,000,000 gallons of water.

"I installed it on my main line in the basement to the house. I noticed that the water felt different right away. After a couple weeks I noticed my skin felt better and did not itch as bad. The little red bumps that caused the itching were getting smaller. I recommend this filter to improve your skin health. Thankyou APEC!"

Terrible experience
"I ordered Green-Carbon-10FG that was never delivered to be. First APEC website cancelled my order and then when I ordered from Amazon it tool more than 3 weeks and still not received the order. They delivered only the free filter that comes with Green-Carbon-10FG cylinder but did not ship the cylinder to me. What am I supposed to use these tools with? Notification from Amazon said package was lost, but no email about it. When I cancelled the order, they say we cannot cancel it even thought package is lost. When Amazon delivered, it's a partial order - just the free/additional blue color filter was delivered but no black cylinder. What a mess this is and now I have to return it and go through new packaging/re-printing the return on package."

Has removed the chlorine smell
"We have city water and my significant other complained about the chlorine from the time we moved in. We had the water tested and it was safe to drink however we used carbon filters on drinking water. She also noted it may have been drying out her skin from showering. I installed the system myself and used all copper with sweat fittings. This was part of some other plumbing work that I had wanted to do. Time for my installation of the filter was about a weekend. It's been in service for about 2 months and so far so good."

"It took me a couple of days to get the whole system installed and I wouldn't recommend just anyone trying to install it but if you have basic plumbing skills you can do it.The system does indeed supply great water almost silky smooth with no odors as you should expect with a filter like this. The whole house filter will help the media in the filter last longer and was also installed at the same time."

"I purchased the Green Carbon 10 whole house filter along with a RO-HI reverse osmosis system for our new house. I had an APEC RO system at my old house so I am a repeat customer. Our water enters into the house from the garage so I installed it there. There was an existing 10 sediment filter which I had planned to remove but at the last minute I decided to keep it and use it too as a pre-filter to my APEC system. Since in my case installation involved re-plumbing the water heater I decided to just replace it too as it was about 10 years old. All these changes presented quite a bit of plumbing work but everything went together fairly easily with no problems. Installation of the filters themselves was very easy. My system has been in use for about two months now and I could not be happier. Previously our water had a strong metallic taste and some of our fixtures were staining. Now with the RO-HI and the green carbon 10 we have near perfect water that tastes better than any bottled water. It's too early to tell if the staining problem is gone but there is definitely a significant improvement in water quality. We drew samples of unfiltered water water fittered by the green carbon 10 with its prefilters and from the reverse osmosis system. The unfiltered water tastes really bad. The whole house filtered water still has a slight taste and the RO water is near perfect. I also installed pressure gauges on my system at the inlet and at the output of the Green Carbon 10. I was very pleased that after passing through the Carbon 10 and two cartridge filters I was only losing about a 3-4 psi water pressure. I am very please with all the APEC products and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The quality is superb. An added plus for me is that they are made in the US. Thank you for a great product that works as advertised!"
