"While the filter is labeled "washable" it has a very limited life and looks dirty even after washing. I wish they would bring back the disposable units."

Sediment-Free, Clean and Clear Water for the Whole HouseThe FI-SED20-BB are reusable and washable pleated sediment filter cartridges designed to reduce dirt, sand, silt, scale and rust particles. Rated to 30 microns, these sediment filters can treat water with high flow rates and low pressure drops. On top of that, their unique design offers exceptional dirt holding capacity for all whole house applications. The media is pleated to maximizes dirt-holding capacity and to extend the time period between changes or cleaning. This sediment cartridge is resistant to both bacteria and chemical attack making them suitable for a variety or residential, commercial and industrial applications. These sediment filters are manufactured from a durable, nonwoven and reusable polyester fabric that is suitable for a wide range of filtration uses. The FI-SED10-BB cartridge fits in our whole house 10" standard housings, and the FI-SED20-BB cartrdige fits in our 20" standard housings. "I bought the whole house system that included this filter about 2 years ago. We live in a rural area and have our own well. For 5 or 6 years we had been getting what looked like tiny pieces of brown wood that clogged the toilet valves and the shower heads. After replacing those items several times I bought the whole house system. We have not had anymore issues with clogged valves or shower heads and the filter has only been replaced once."

"I have used the Whole House Reusable and Pleated Sediment Filter 4.5 x 20 30 micron filters for three years for RAIN WATER HARVESTING filtering. The cannister is clear so I can check/look at the filter very quickly it is easy to wash and restore to almost new condition it is very durable. I will always use these filters as they do their intended purpose very well. We are on 100% rainwater for all of our water consumption and uses."
