APEC ULTIMATE Complete 5-Stage High Capacity Filter Set
APEC Ultimate high flow 5-stage complete filter set is made in USA with the highest quality filtration components to provide a longer lasting filter set to protect and prolong the lifespan of your reverse osmosis system. Premium quality pre-filter cartridges lasts over 12 months while the membrane and post carbon filter last 3-5 years for fewer filter change outs and high performance contaminant removal.
Apec water FILTER-MAX90-38 is for ultimate series RO-Hi model, and RO-90&RO-PERM with upgrade 3/8" output. Also compatible with most of 10 inch industry standard size reverse osmosis water filter system with 3/8 inch output.
All US Made Super High Capacity Filters
1st Stage: High-Grade 5 micron 10 Inch high-capacity polypropylene sediment filter -removes dust, particles, and rust. 100% pure polypropylene depth filter with exceptional dirt-holding capacity translates to longer life and fewer change-outs than existing string-wound or resin-bonded filters. Recommend changing every 1 year.
2nd and 3rd Stage: Premium Extruded Carbon Block 10 Inch -gets rid of unpleasant chlorine, tastes, odors, cloudiness and colors. Also removes VOCs and other common chemicals from the water. APEC's extruded carbon block filters consist of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced adsorptive capacity and efficiency. Unlike granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, these extruded carbon block cartridges will not channel or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of their extruded activated carbon core. Recommend changing every 1 year.
4th Stage: Select FILMTEC (Dow Chemical) High Rejection TFC reverse osmosis membrane. Removes up to 99% of total dissolved solids (TDS) and contaminants such as arsenic, lead, fluoride, chromium, radium, bacteria, viruses and much more. Recommend changing every 3-5 years.
5th Stage: Advanced Coconut Shell Refining Carbon 3/8" Quick Connect - TCR (Total Contamination Removal) filter removes any possible residual taste from the tank. Recommend changing every 3-5 years.

Have had dimishing returns on the filter system
"I first put my reverse osmosis system in about 7 years ago. For the first 4 or 5 years it worked great, replace the filters once a year, replace the others every 3 years. For the past 2 and a half to 3 years I'm having to replace the filters at least twice yearly. I believe this has to do with my town's water which is notoriously "brown" but the cost of the filters is now outweighing the cost of getting the 5 gallon bottles from a 3rd party. The convenience of it is still really good and I loved it for the first 4 years or so and that's why I still give it 4 stars. But I would like to see the cost of the filters come down, it adds too much to the lifetime cost of the system, even when replacing less frequently."

"I somehow mis-ordered the “complete” set with 3/8 tubing. You graciously replaced (stage 5) with 3/4 tubing which I appreciated. A good product is made better with good service which I have happily experienced with APEC."

"My last 2 replacement filter orders did not provide the reduction of solids I expected. My water supplier gives poor quality at 400ppm. My first few refills would bring that level to a glorious 4ppm. I am now getting 24-48ppm on the same water source. Not good."
