5th stage standard capacity coconut shell carbon filter removes any last residuals
APEC Essence 75 GPD pH 6 stage complete filter set is made with high quality filtration components to protect and prolong the lifespan of your reverse osmosis system. Premium quality filter set lasts over 6 months for high performance contaminant removal, while the membrane and post carbon filter last 2-4 years. The 6th stage pHPlus inline filter enhance the pH of water and adds food grade quality calcium carbonate into the water. These standard size filters are compatible with APEC Essence ROES-PH75 under the counter reverse osmosis systems and all other standard size under counter reverse osmosis systems.
1st Stage: Sediment removal 5 micron 10 Inch filter -removes dust, particles, and rust. Protects and extends the life of the membrane and system. Recommend changing every 6-12 months.
2nd and 3rd Stage: Carbon block 10 micron 10 Inch filter -gets rid of unpleasant chlorine, tastes, odors, cloudiness and colors. Also removes VOCs and other common chemicals from the water. Recommend changing every 6-12 months.
4th Stage: High Rejection TFC reverse osmosis membrane. Removes a wide variety of contaminants including arsenic, bacteria, chlorine, lead, fluoride, chromium, radium and more. Recommend changing every 2-4 years.
5th Stage: Coconut Shell Refining Carbon 10 Inch filter -removes any possible residual taste from the tank. Recommend changing every 2-4 years.
6th Stage: 10 Inch High Purity pHPlus Calcium Carbonate Re-mineralization Inline Filters w/ Quick Connect-increases pH level of the water by adding calcium carbonate mineral back into the water. Recommend changing every 6-12 months.

The FI-PHPLUS-QC is a 10 Inch inline filter that adds high purity food grade calcium minerals to enhance the water taste for people who prefer drinking mineral water. This mineral cartridge adds only high-purity calcium carbonate to effectively neutralize acidity and raise pH in the water. Other re-mineralization filter will claim to add various beneficial minerals back into the water; however, their mineral formulations are often from unknown sources.

"I've been using these for several years. The improvement in water taste is the main positive I note for this product. The reason for the 4 stars is one of the filters arrived damaged. Since the box was not damaged, my presumption is they were already damaged before shipping. Cannot prove this; I'm drawing my own conclusion. Even with the damage, they still seemed to fit ok. Just concerns me a bit about the overall care/mindfulness of the employees gathering the orders: it never should have made it into the box."
